About

DOSomethingWorld.org is about you — and for you. It’s a place where individuals or groups or churches can join with thousands of others who have stepped up to change the world around them – and show how ordinary people can do extraordinary things with God’s transforming power.

Behind DO Something World

DOSomethingWorld.org was founded by Pastor/Evangelist Miles McPherson. McPherson is senior pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego, one of the fastest growing churches in the United States. With its more than 60 lay-led ministries, and a commitment to its community of 600,000 volunteer hours during 2009, the Rock is a DO Something World training ground.

Out of his vision for the Rock and for the church worldwide, McPherson wrote DO Something! Make Your Life Count, which has a companion DVD, participant’s guide and small group leader’s kit available to help you make a difference.

A former defensive back with the San Diego Chargers, McPherson also is founder and chief evangelist of Miles Ahead, an outreach ministry focused on sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with teens and adults all over the world. A Miles Ahead Festival consists of a DO Something leadership conference, community service projects, and evening evangelistic events.

Beyond DO Something World

Do you want to make your life really count? If you’d like to know more, then learn about the 5 P’s!

Jesus Christ came to earth to launch a plan. His plan not only would secure salvation for anyone who would believe in Him. It also would establish a pattern for anyone to enact our individual roles in the salvation of others. The plan has five parts (hence the 5 P’s): Preparation, Purpose, Pain, Power, and Passion.

Be a DO Something Church

A DO Something Church is one that agrees with a few basic ideas, and is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission (see Matthew 28:16-20).

  • A DO Something Church strategically mobilizes people to serve in their community, to share Christ’s Love beyond the walls of the church.
  • A DO Something Church measures progress by quantifying DO Something hours and decisions for Christ.
  • A DO Something Church focuses building the Kingdom of God by using and sharing “best practices” with other churches and individuals.
