The Rock Church, founded by DO Something! author Miles McPherson, is a city-transforming church committed to doing all it can to share God's love through community outreach. The Rock Church is a city-transforming non-denominational church committed to sharing the love of Christ through innovative worship, small groups and ministries. Founded in 2000 by Pastor Miles McPherson, a former San Diego Charger defensive back, the Rock's five worship services draw an average of 13,000 each Sunday. But the heart of the church is its weekly outreach, with nearly 100 ministries started by lay people with a passion to do something, from helping prostitutes to sewing dolls for needy kids. In 2009 the Rock exceeded its commitment of 600,000 volunteer hours to the community. The goal for 2010 is 700,000 hours!
