Bikes for Kids Ministry

Ask almost anyone about the first time they rode a bike, and they can't help but smile as they recall childhood adventures and mishaps. Greg Cornelious has the unique opportunity to provide such experiences for children who may never own a bicycle otherwise.

Greg leads the Bikes for Kids Ministry at The Rock Church in San Diego. The Bikes for Kids Ministry provides bicycles to children whose families may not be able to afford one. New or refurbished bicycles are given to children from disadvantageous backgrounds, such as those in the foster care system, children of incarcerated parents, or children whose mothers are living in a domestic violence shelter.

And if you ask Greg about the two most rewarding moments of his ministry thus far, he won’t hesitate to share. The first happened when a mother came from a domestic violence shelter to watch her child ride his bike for the first time outside of their shop. The second was when two kids from a Group Home visited and each rode a bicycle for the first time. Without a doubt, he knows that God has certainly changed lives through this ministry.

Greg has a knack for tuning and repairing bicycles. He is using his skills to do something in his community. Through his work, he is sharing God’s love and concern for those in need.
