Makeover Ministry
It’s a process that women everywhere undergo at least once a day – hair and makeup. While it seems like a pretty ordinary task unto itself, it is has extraordinary potential to help people love themselves and others better.
Amanda Dailey knows this firsthand. She is a leader of the Makeover Ministry at The Rock Church in San Diego. Through doing hair, she has been able to share God’s love with people who often have a poor self-image, including the homeless, foster youth, and cancer patients. As cuts hair, she listens to their stories and witnesses their pain. Amanda often encounters opportunities to pray with the people she serves and lead them to the Lord.
A lot of people lack self-acceptance and fall victim to the lies of the enemy. Amanda did not just label it as a personal issue for others to sort out. She decided to literally do something: hair.
People consistently want to be understood and loved. By doing their hair, Amanda makes them feel important, feel cared for and feel beautiful. The Makeover Ministry aims to strengthen self-confidence starting from the outside in, giving people added support in their path to loving themselves and fully accepting who God made them to be.
