Each of us was created to do something specific. Pastor Miles McPherson of the Rock Church in San Diego shares the biblical foundation for doing something for others.
Jesus Christ came to earth to launch a plan. Not only did He become the savior of the world. He also established a way for each of us to act out our roles in His plan of salvation. Each of us was created to do something specific within His plan for His creation.
That’s the Plan. It can be divided into five parts — or the Five P’s:
- Preparation: Before we were born, God made all the necessary preparations so that we could do something to make our lives count.
- Purpose: Our purpose is to love Him and be obedient to His plan so that we can do something to make our lives count.
- Pain: God uses pain to protect and teach us, and to motivate us to do something to make our lives count.
- Power: God gives us the needed power to do what He wants us to do so that our lives count.
- Passion: We need God-fueled passion to get through tough times to do what God has called us to do.
The Plan enables us to communicate hope to a broken world. We are all broken too, and need Jesus Christ’s love and healing. For more on all of this, read DO Something! Make Your Life Count, by Miles McPherson.
